R. Christopher Dillon

Chris Dillon attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a B.S. in Business Administration (1987) and his Juris Doctor (1990). Following his graduation from law school, Chris entered private practice with the Raleigh firm, Young, Moore and Henderson where he worked with the administrative law team. He represented State administrative agencies including one of the occupational licensing boards and has represented numerous professionals before other State licensing boards. In addition to his licensing board work, Chris has appeared at every level of our State court system and has represented clients in the areas of malpractice defense, insurance coverage issues, general business and commercial real estate.
Chris later obtained a real estate broker license from the North Carolina Real Estate Commission and operated a real estate business for a number of years, focusing on commercial real estate brokerage, investments and property management.
In 2006, he helped start and served on the management team at CapStone Bank, a North Carolina community bank where he worked until 2011. While at CapStone, he served as a Senior Vice President, and his responsibilities included working with and advising businesses and professionals, lending, underwriting and portfolio management and attending the internal Board Loan Committee. During his time at CapStone, he was instrumental in growing the bank from $24 million in assets to over $200 million while maintaining a well-capitalized rating with regulators.
Having grown up in Raleigh, Chris has been active in community service. He was appointed twice by the Raleigh City Counsel to serve on the Board of DHIC, Inc., which develops and manages affordable residential housing. He has served for over a decade on the Living Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides over 30 partial college scholarships annually. He is active at Edenton Street United Methodist Church where he serves on the Administrative Board and has taught youth Sunday School for over 20 years.
Chris and his wife Ann have three daughters and two sons, ranging in age from elementary school age to high school. He enjoys spending time with his family as much as possible.
