Dauna L. Bartley

Of Counsel

Dauna joined The Brocker Law Firm, P.A. in 2019.  She brings years of experience counseling clients on ethics, compliance, and disciplinary issues, and handling civil litigation in state and federal courts.  Dauna now concentrates on practicing before various professional licensing boards and administrative agencies, and on representing clients in professional liability and civil litigation matters.  She provides advice to clients on various topics such as licensing, authorized practice, advertising, complaint management, and general compliance, and she assists professional clients in responding to complaints and grievances.  She has lectured at continuing legal education seminars sponsored by Lawyer’s Mutual Liability Insurance Company and the North Carolina Bar Foundation.

Dauna graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Theatre Arts, and a Master of Arts in Rhetoric and Communication.  She worked for nearly a decade as a human resources/recruitment professional, during which time she and her family relocated to the Triangle area.  Dauna then pursued a career in law and graduated with High Honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law.  During law school, Dauna completed an externship with the Honorable Magistrate Judge Wallace W. Dixon in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, and served as Publication Editor for the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology.

Dauna formerly practiced in civil litigation with the law firms of Moore &  Van Allen PLLC in Morrisville, NC and Ellis & Winters LLP in Raleigh, NC.  She then served as general counsel and compliance counsel for Sessoms & Rogers, P.A., in Durham, NC.  Dauna is admitted to practice before North Carolina State Courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association, and the 10th Judicial District Bar.

When not practicing law, Dauna enjoys traveling with her family to attend science fiction/fantasy conventions and to see new places across the United States and around the world whenever possible.
